Checkout on your own domain
The player only adds the conversion key to links on known domains. If your checkout runs on your own domain, add that domain to the conversion.
The conversion key only reaches the checkout if the player recognizes the link's domain. This guide shows how to include your checkout's domain.
Why add the domain
For safety, the player only writes the conversion key into links that point to a known checkout domain. The platform's official domains are already covered, for example pay.hotmart.com on Hotmart.
If your checkout opens on your own domain, like checkout.yoursite.com, the player doesn't recognize the link and doesn't write the key. The sale arrives without tracking and doesn't count toward the video.
When to use it
- Your payment platform supports a checkout on your own domain and you use it.
- You use an automation conversion (Zapier, Make, or n8n). In that case the field is required, because the checkout is yours and only you know its domain.
When creating the conversion
- In Account settings › Conversions, click New conversion and pick the platform.
- Click + My checkout uses its own domain.
- In Your checkout domains, enter the domains separated by commas, for example
pay.yoursite.com, checkout.yoursite.com. - Finish creating the conversion as usual.
On an existing conversion
In the conversion menu, on the Conversions list, choose Checkout domains, edit the list, and click Save domains. Links to those domains will carry that conversion's key.
Rules
- Enter just the domain, with no
https://or path. - Up to 10 domains per conversion.
- A domain also covers its subdomains:
yoursite.comcoverspay.yoursite.com. To narrow it down, enter the exact subdomain. - Only
httpandhttpslinks are tagged.
Common issues
- Shortened link: a short link points to the shortener's domain, not the checkout's, so the player doesn't write the key. Use the direct checkout link.
- Link to an in-between page: if the button goes to another page of yours before the checkout, the key doesn't carry over to the checkout on its own. Point the button straight at the checkout.
- Domain entered with a path: the field only takes the domain. Remove
https://and everything after the first slash.
How to check it
- Open the published page where the player is.
- Click the buy button or link.
- In the checkout address, check that the conversion parameter shows up followed by a long value, for example
?src=and the key.
If the parameter doesn't show up, the link's domain isn't covered by the conversion linked to the video, or the video doesn't have a linked conversion yet.
The "This link does not look like the platform" warning
On the video screen, under your conversion, the checkout link shows this warning when the address is outside the known domains. If the checkout is yours, add its domain to the conversion as described above.
