Mini trigger: the floating call-to-action button

The mini trigger is a small button that shows up in a corner of the video from the time you choose and points to your destination link.

What it is

The mini trigger is a small button that floats in one corner of the video. It shows up from a moment you choose and points to a destination link. It draws attention to the purchase without covering the whole picture the way a big button does.

It's different from the video's Buttons: the mini trigger always sits in a corner, over the video, and there's only one per video.

How to set it up

  1. In your video library, click the video and go to the Settings tab.
  2. In the AI Maximization card, open Advanced settings.
  3. In the Interactions group, open Mini trigger.
  4. Turn on Enable mini trigger and fill in the fields.
  5. Save. The preview next to it updates right away.

Fields

  • Text: what the button says. Keep it short, like the offer name or an action.
  • Appears at: the moment in the video when the button shows up, as mm:ss (for example, 00:30).
  • Position: Bottom right, Bottom left, Top right or Top left.
  • Destination link: the full URL, starting with http:// or https://. The player rejects any other format, so the screen warns you before you save.
  • Color: with no color of its own, the button uses the player's main color.

If the destination is the linked platform's checkout, the click carries the tracking parameter like any other checkout link, and the sale can be attributed to the video.

When to use it

The mini trigger works best as a quiet reminder after the offer has been presented. A common setup is to have it show up around the pitch, pointing to checkout, and save the big buy button for the main call to action.

Don't show it too early: before the pitch, visitors don't know what they're buying yet, and the button competes with the video's opening. To find the pitch time, check the AI Maximization card, which shows the pitch the AI detected.

Mini trigger and the AI

The mini trigger is one of the settings AI Maximization can test. With the AI on for the video and for this setting, the fields are locked. To edit it yourself, turn off the AI maximization switch inside Mini trigger.

Common issues

  • The button doesn't show up. Check that Enable mini trigger is on and that the video has played past the Appears at time.
  • The screen won't save the time. Use the mm:ss format, like 01:15.
  • The fields are locked. The AI is on for this setting.
