AI Maximization: how it works and how to turn it on

The AI builds versions of your video player, measures which one sells more and keeps the winner live, at the pace you choose.

What it is

AI Maximization runs a video's player for you. It creates versions of the headline, the button, the autoplay, the progress bar and other elements, splits traffic between them, measures which one works best and keeps the winner live.

With a linked conversion, the AI decides by sales. Without one, it decides by how many people reach the pitch. Each video has its own setup, and new videos start with the AI turned off.

How to turn it on

  1. In your video library, click the video to open its details.
  2. Go to the Settings tab. The AI Maximization card sits in the right column.
  3. Turn on the switch at the top of the card.
  4. If you see Optimization needs the checkout link., click Add link and paste your purchase URL into Checkout link. See how the checkout link is used.

Only account admins can turn the AI on or off or change the level. Members see the card in read-only mode. See team roles.

What happens when you turn it on

Once the video's transcript is ready, the AI prepares a starter kit: it finds the pitch from what's said in the video, writes headlines, creates a buy button that shows from the pitch to the end and sets up autoplay. When you turn the AI on, the kit only fills in what you haven't set up yet. Anything you already configured stays as it is.

The card shows the pitch time and a Watch the pitch button that plays that section in the player next to it. If the start is a few seconds off, nudge it with −1s and +1s and confirm the new time. Buttons tied to the pitch move with it.

Autopilot level

Under Autopilot level, pick how often the AI makes changes:

  • Conservative: changes every 7 days, step by step.
  • Balanced: changes every 4 days, testing variations.
  • Aggressive: daily changes, with more variations under test.

Changing the level also changes the pace of a test that's already running. A faster pace needs more traffic for each decision to be reliable, so low-traffic videos usually do better on Conservative or Balanced.

What the AI changes

The AI works on these advanced settings: Colors, Buttons, Headline, Mini trigger, Autoplay, Progress bar and Save progress. Controls and Thumbnails always stay with you.

Keep a setting out of the AI

  1. In the card, open Advanced settings.
  2. Go into the setting you want to control yourself.
  3. Turn off the AI maximization switch inside it.

While the AI is on for a setting, its fields are locked with the note To edit, turn off AI maximization. That way your manual edits and the AI's test don't change the same thing at the same time.

Status and history

  • Learning mode: the AI is collecting sessions before its first decision. Once there's traffic, the card shows an estimate in days.
  • Optimizing: the AI has already made decisions on this video. The card shows when the last action happened.
  • Paused: the AI is off for this video.

Once there's optimization data, a History and Results link shows up. It lists every change, yours and the AI's, with the result of each one next to it. Some changes can be undone with the Revert button. Changes with a strong result can also reach you by email: see high-impact optimizations.

Common issues

  • The status says the AI starts once the video gets visits. The video hasn't had any sessions yet. The AI needs real traffic to compare versions.
  • I can't edit a field. The AI is on for that setting. Turn off AI maximization inside it.
  • The switch won't change. Check that your role on the account is admin.
  • The AI decides by the pitch, not by sales. The video has no linked conversion.
