Results metrics: revenue, conversions, play rate and retention

What each Results (30d) stat measures, how it's calculated and why it won't match other dashboards exactly.

Where to find them

On the video's Settings tab, the AI Maximization card shows a Results (30d) block: the last 30 days, including today. For a breakdown by period, open the video's Analytics tab, with its Sales & Conversions and Audience tabs.

The stats show up once the video finishes converting and gets its first plays. Until then, the block reads Waiting for views.

Attributed revenue

The total of sales that came in through the linked conversion and were attributed to this video. Only sales where the platform sent back the player's tracking parameter count. Refunds come in when the platform's notice arrives.

If you have sales in more than one currency, the amount shown is for the currency with the highest volume, and a note next to it says there are sales in other currencies. Different currencies aren't added together.

Conversions

The number of sales attributed to this video in the period. Without a linked conversion, Attributed revenue and Conversions show — and Link a conversion. With a linked conversion and no sales, they show zero.

Play rate

Of the visitors who loaded the player, how many pressed play with sound on. The math: viewers who played with sound, divided by viewers who opened the player. A low play rate usually means the cover, the autoplay or the prompt to turn sound on isn't convincing people. See how autoplay works.

Retention

How much of the video people watch, on average. The math: total watch time divided by the number of plays times the video's length. A 40% retention means each play watched 40% of the video on average. The full second-by-second curve is on the Analytics tab.

Why the numbers differ

  • From your payment platform. The platform counts every sale. Here, only sales attributed to a video count, and the time window and cutoff time differ too.
  • From your invoice. These numbers are the video's performance. Billing is checked against the play balance on the Plan screen, which counts loads across the whole account on days that have already closed. See how pay-per-play billing works.
  • No percentage change. The stats show the value for the period, with no comparison to the previous period.

Common issues

  • Revenue and Conversions show a dash. Link a conversion to the video.
  • Everything is zero on a video that gets visits. Check that the page uses the embed code for the right video and that the video has finished converting.
